Saturday of the Third Week of Advent
We read of the blessing of a father to a son. This reminds me that we have the power to speak life—words of encouragement and hope into the lives of others. Whether we are parents speaking to children or are in other types of relationships where others value the words we speak to them, let us intentionally speak words of life. Spoken words of life are indeed seeds that sprout blessings later on.
We read an exclamation of those willing to receive wisdom from the Most High God—the One who has been and continues to exist. There is nothing new under the sun. So, why not seek knowledge and wisdom from the Omniscient One? He cannot lie, and there is nothing that can take Him by surprise.
We read of the genealogy of Jesus as a descendent of Abraham—proof that Jesus understands the experience of earthly lineage. Let us reflect on our lineage and see what lessons we can from those that came before us. The more you know about where and who you came from, the more informed you are about how your past may affect your future. It is said that history repeats itself.
May we all bless others with our words, seek knowledge and wisdom from the Most High, and make an effort to understand our history so that we can have an improved future.
