1 Peter 4:10
As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
As we gear up for family time in a world of restrictions and life altering consequences, I ask you to think of those who may not be as fortunate as you. Think of the grace that has been given to you and your family. The year 2020 has taken so much away from us, some more than others. Yet, you’ve weathered the storm. It may have only been the love of your family, friends or your faith that enabled you to surpass these difficult and unforeseen circumstances. Whatever it may have been, rejoice because you made it. This is a time to reflect and pay it forward.
We may complain of not being able to partake in the regularities of our life, or not being able to gather with family or friends but I appeal to you, look to those who will sit at an empty table this holiday due to the loss of a loved one, or those who don't have family in their life. Reflect on how you can be an agent of change, or as my faith beckons a "Faithful Steward”.
Holidays symbolize a time of gift giving and fellowship. I’d ask that you take some time to give the gift of compassion, the gift of conversation, and the gift of encouragement. We are at our best when we are of service to others. Purposely serve those around you with goodness and grace, the same grace in which God has instilled into all of us. After all the best gifts are the ones we don’t have to purchase and wrap in a bow.
Love and respect all as they would like to be treated. Commit yourself to small “ARK’s" (Acts of Random Kindness), this is how we change our world, one small gesture at a time. Lastly, be a gift to yourself. It is of the utmost importance to be our best selves first before we uplift and service others. Refection and self care starts within, once we love and care for ourselves first, only then can we be good stewards. Take time out to reflect and allow change as you are God’s gift to the world.
Love and allow to be loved...
