Thursday of the Third Week of Lent
We live in a world where it is so easy to become overtaken and overwhelmed by our busy schedules and personal desires, which sometimes makes it difficult for us to find the time to give God honor for all that He has done in our lives. These readings remind us of how important it is to remain faithful and obey God for He will give us peace and comfort in His presence. We must also take heed to the fact that when we neglect God and harden our hearts toward Him, it is then hardship follows us. Yet, He will chase us like a shepherd looking for one lost sheep among his herd, to show us how much He loves us. When we listen, obey and trust God and His promises to us in our lives, it is so that we may prosper and have eternal life with Him in Heaven. We must also be weary of falling into the trap of being divided amongst ourselves and learn to live in unity and according to His word. During this Lenten season, it is important that we learn to value spending our time with God and opening our hearts to Him and refuse to be persuaded by the things of this world. This way, we can build a more fruitful relationship with Him and follow in His footsteps.
