Monday of the Second Week of Advent

Today's Readings

We have crossed the bridge over to the Second Week of Advent and the theme is Peace.
What is peace? It is a different meaning for all of us.
I keep this quote nearby as a reminder:
Peace...
It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work...
It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.
(Unknown)
The First Reading from Isaiah for today states:
"Say to those whose hearts are frightened:
 Be strong, fear not!
 Here is your God...
 A highway will be there,
 Called the holy way;
It is for those with a journey to make,
And on it the redeemed will walk."
We need to be the Peace this Advent as we live with the day-to-day routines, joys, difficulties, sorrows, darkness.

The song below, Breath of Heaven (Mary's Song) by Amy Grant, refers to when Mary learned that she was called to be Mother of our Lord Jesus.

The song also speaks to us as we wait with peace for Jesus.
Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of Heaven
Breath of Heaven
Lighten my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy
Breath of heaven
