Monday of the First Week of Advent

Today's Readings

As we anticipate the coming of Christ, we must remember that the Lord wants us to draw nearer to Him. The Lord welcomes even the worst sinner to join Him and be cleansed. It is by the great power of the Lord that sinners transform into saints.

He welcomes us into His home and asks us to take refuge in Him. The Lord will provide safety, shelter, spiritual and physical nourishment, and peace. The Lord invites us to walk with Him; to listen, learn, love and grow. He provides us an opportunity for a brand-new godly life, if we accept it.

We will not be turned away from the Lord if our hearts are sincere. Through humility, we will earn our place at the Lord's table.

The Lord gives us an invitation to the banquet in the Kingdom of Heaven. In turn, we must invite the Lord into our lives and keep Him in our hearts. The Lord will bless us with Holy gifts that we may use to elevate one another, so that we may share in the Good that is our Lord.

This year, we should remember that the Lord sees us during our worst times and loves us anyway. Let us not try to hide ourselves from God but embrace His awesome healing and transforming light.
